PROGRAM SPECIALIST TANF “TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES”

Coordinates the statewide TANF program in technology centers. The TANF program is designed to meet the training needs of participants who meet Oklahoma Human Services qualifications for services and prepare them for employment. This position provides leadership and guidance to the technology center Training Navigators in collaboration with Oklahoma Human Services and Work Ready Oklahoma.

Position based in Stillwater, OK. Requires frequent travel and some overnight stays.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

= Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in related field

= Three years’ work experience in education, government, or public sector

PREFERRED:

= Master's degree

= Current teaching certificate

= Federal program experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

= Provide Training Navigator services to individuals at assigned schools or as needed.

= Provide guidance to technology centers in their TANF program’s design to ensure it meets the TANF mission and provides the desired outcomes.

= Develop annual guidebook for TANF technology center programs.

= Conduct annual monitoring reviews of programs and audits local expenditures and student records. Serve on accreditation teams to conduct in-depth on-site evaluations of technology centers to determine attainment of standards and make recommendations for program improvement.

= Provide technical assistance to programs both on-site and virtually.

= Provide leadership and guidance to technology centers on existing or changing state and federal laws that directly and indirectly affect programs continuation and design.

= Process invoices and reconcile quarterly technology center expenditure reports to approve or disallow expenditures in accordance with Oklahoma Human Services and ODCTE contract and program guidelines.

= Plan and coordinate meetings and professional development opportunities for TANF providers, including meetings in collaboration with Work Ready Oklahoma and Oklahoma Human Services.

= Assist in the planning, design, implementation, and rollout of a student data system. Manage the student data system to track numbers served, retention/completion rates, initial employment information, follow-up information, etc. and report performance outcomes to ODCTE and Oklahoma Human Services.

Salary/Benefits: $51,009.95 - $63,487.94 commensurate with education or experience. Health, dental, life and disability insurance; flexible benefits plan; teacher’s retirement; vacation/sick leave; paid holidays; employee assistance program; and flex-time options. Total salary and benefits package valued at $63,110.72 - $77,051.74.
