Summary/Objective: This position reviews loan applications and completes administrative tasks for Loan Officers. This position is responsible for checking important loan details and requirements before submitting all documentation to the lender. The Loan Assistant prepares documents related to cost estimates for borrowers, provides all necessary information to relevant parties, answers client inquiries, and redirects questions to the appropriate departments. This position is responsible for various tasks related to escrow administration and will be the primary contact for escrow related inquiries. Required hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • Review, identify, and resolve problems with loan applications.
  • Facilitate the application process by initiating pre-qualification inquiry calls and reviewing the resulting data with the loan officer.
  • Assist in managing a loan portfolio with regard to credit quality, administration, and portfolio performance.
  • Coordinate meetings with current clients and potential customers.
  • Assist with the closing of loans.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Convey complex loan information in simple terms to clients.
  • Report progress and escalate issues to the loan officer.
  • Follow strict privacy policies to protect the identities of all parties involved, as well as keep accurate records of loan requests and other lender/borrower information.
  • Work effectively with customers and peers as a team member.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and high integrity.
  • Handle general information inquiries and questions from customers.
  • Expedite workflow through creativity and innovation.
  • Participate in marketing campaigns and product launches.
  • Order/run annual escrow analysis and new analysis as needed.
  • Pay all escrowed homeowners’ insurance.
  • Perform various administrative duties related to the payment of property taxes and insurance.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to escrow accounts and transactions.
  • Cross-sell products and make referrals to other Exchange Bank departments and/or locations as necessary to ensure customers have access to the best products available to meet their needs.
  • Attend training as required by Exchange Bank as well as support the overall compliance program by complying with all laws, policies, and procedures.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. This position may require long periods of standing or sitting. Candidates must also have the ability to stoop, bend and squat in order to fulfill physical demands. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The position may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. The use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree, bachelor’s degree from any college or university, or
  • One to two years related experience and/or training, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
