PROGRAM SPECIALIST - STEM
This position provides instructional leadership in implementing high-quality teaching and learning, and advocates strategies to improve STEM education. Program Specialist develop instructional strategies and resources that improve the academic achievement and technical skills of students in career and technology education. The position provides leadership to the STEM cluster. Serves as curriculum expert for career and technology education programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED:
§ Bachelor’s degree
§ Three years teaching experience
PREFERRED:
§ Master’s degree
§ Degree in STEM related field
§ Valid teaching certificate
Position based in Stillwater, OK. Frequent daytime travel, some overnight travel.
Duties/Essential Functions:
§ Provide technical support and individualized assistance to instructors, counselors, directors, and administrators.
§ Serve as a resource and mentor to novice teachers to help with the transition to the teaching profession.
§ Conduct program visits, evaluations, and accreditations to assure program quality and assist with program improvement.
§ Provide guidance for the STEM programs within the statewide instructional framework.
§ Work under the guidance of STEM division manager and alongside other team members to ensure that organizational vision, mission, and goals are met.
§ Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
§ Develop techniques for the collection, maintenance, and dissemination data about programs.
§ Assist in providing guidance and leadership to Technology Student Association (TSA) the STEM student organization and assist with TSA student leadership activities.
§ Assess nationwide trends and emerging technologies for relevance and potential impact to STEM courses and programs.
§ Use state and national math/science/NGSS standards to strengthen career and technology education programs to increase student academic achievement.
§ Plan and coordinate travel arrangements to maximize impact and effectiveness.
Salary/Benefits: $56,985.95 - $63,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $69,536.53 - $76,456.30.
