INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Resource Center.
Coordinate the administration of a statewide learning management system and develop curriculum standards and other instructional support resources in collaboration with educators, advisory committees, and other stakeholders. Consult with teachers, state agency staff, and other strategic partners about online learning or program delivery. Develop and perform ongoing maintenance of the agency’s SharePoint intranet.
Proficiency with current hardware and software relevant to instructional support; Moodle-based LMS troubleshooting; problem-solving and time management skills; teamwork skills; and initiative. Familiarity with MS Office suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to use major virtual meeting platforms.
Knowledge and experience with educational technology; instructional design/delivery; technology standards such as HTML5, CSS, and SCORM; troubleshooting technical problems related to the learning management system; usability considerations concerning online user experiences and human/computer interaction; SharePoint hub and subsite development; multimedia development; video production; and graphic design.
Some in-state travel may be required, including overnight travel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field.
PREFERRED:
· Three to five years of instructional support or teaching experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate the administration of the agency’s statewide learning management system (LMS) for the digital delivery of learning materials, assessments, and program enhancements.
2. Act as a liaison with the agency’s LMS service provider concerning system upgrades, technical issues, application deployment, and other maintenance concerns.
3. Create and maintain the overall look and feel of the LMS to ensure ease of navigation and a pleasant user experience.
4. Consult with teachers, state staff members, and other strategic partners concerning ways to improve the content and implementation of online learning or program delivery.
5. Provide technical troubleshooting and LMS support for teachers and student users, as needed.
6. Continually develop and perform ongoing maintenance of the agency’s SharePoint intranet. Create new subsites, post resources, and update pages for various administrative divisions, as needed. Provide agency user and developer support.
7. Develop instructional support resources in collaboration with educators, industry advisory committees, and other stakeholders, including curriculum standards.
Salary/Benefits: $56,985.95 - $63,421.34 commensurate with education or experience.
