The Coordinator of Student Conduct serves as the primary investigator for all types of student conduct cases including sexual violence and student organizations. The Coordinator additionally serves as a conduct officer holding students accountable for nonacademic behavior that violates Oklahoma State University's Student Code of Conduct while preserving students' rights. Through evaluation, referral, and educational intervention, provide guidance to students who face conduct action and encourage them to change their behavior and develop their decision-making abilities. The Coordinator will also serve as a resource to administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding general and special conduct issues and assist in ensuring university-wide compliance with the policies and procedures contained in the Student Code of Conduct.

 

Position presents exposure to student's emotions, which are occasionally elevated to a higher level and it may be directed towards the staff.

 

Position requires frequent use of computer, to include include typing. Occasional special events require standing/walking for 8-12 hours.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Educational Leadership, or related field.
  • One year of experience addressing student behavior – two years in graduate school experience with addressing student behavior would count toward one year of experience.
  • Familiarity with student development theory, higher education law for Students Affairs, and emerging/relevant issues regarding student conduct.
  • Experience in managing confidential and sensitive situations.
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations.
  • Proven ability in assisting students in ethical decision-making and reflection on behavior, values, and community membership.
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously in a higher traffic environment.
  • Experience with the development and coordination of educational programming.
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully with multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Development, Educational Leadership, or related field.
  • Two years of experience investigating allegations of misconduct. Familiarity and experience with Title IX and compliance with Federal laws and guidance.
  • Sexual misconduct investigation training certificate.
