Hiring Range (Contingent upon available funding): 38,040-45,600
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, nights & weekends as needed
Job Summary:
- Responsible for the implementation of the goals and objectives of the Talent Search Program.
- Responsible for the management of student files, including documentation of services provided based upon program guidelines.
- Acts as a liaison between the target schools and post-secondary institutions which requires frequent driving to those schools.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops, other professional development activities, and other duties as assigned.
- Position requires the ability to drive a 15-passenger van and a valid driver's license.
- Travel is required. Assigned target schools will be visited three to four days a week.
- Occasional after hours outreach programs or field trips required.
- Four 3-day summer camps required.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education/Social Science and one year of experience working with low-income, first-generation, or minority students.
- Experience working with students from a diverse background.
- Knowledge of academic needs of low-income, first-generation and minority students; knowledge of collegiate academic and financial aid processes; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education/Social Science.
- TRiO experience or experience as a participant in a Talent Search Program.
- Five years experience in academic counseling, social services, education, or community services.
- Two years of assessment experience.
