In May of 1927, a group of McAlester, OK businessmen acquired Bank of McAlester, a small State bank that had closed, and on May 17, 1927, opened The National Bank of McAlester, which became The Bank N.A. in 1985.

The Stillwater branch was acquired in October of 1986, when the charter of Stillwater Community Bank was declared insolvent by the FDIC.

The Bank N.A. currently operates from its McAlester, Stillwater and Broken Arrow offices, supporting the growth and improvement of those communities.

Blue Sky Bank was originally chartered in Osage County, Oklahoma in 1905 as the Bank of Commerce in Pawhuska. Over the last 115 plus years, it has grown and changed names several times, being known as the National Bank of Commerce, NBC Bank and, most recently, Citizens Bank of Oklahoma. Although the name has changed over time, Blue Sky Bank is and has always been Oklahoma-owned.
